Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
Keep more money in your wallet
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) allow you to use before-tax dollars to pay for certain healthcare and dependent day care expenses. Siemens Healthineers offers two separate accounts:
- Healthcare FSA, which you can use to pay for eligible healthcare expenses.
- Dependent Day Care FSA, which you can use to pay for eligible dependent day care expenses for children under age 13, parents, grandparents or a disabled spouse.
Keep in mind
- If you’re enrolled in the Health Savings Medical Plan, you can’t contribute to a regular Healthcare FSA, but you can use a Limited-Use FSA to help cover dental and vision costs.
- If you’re enrolled in the Health Reimbursement Copay Advantage Plan, use your HRA first for eligible medical costs like your copay, deductible, and coinsurance. Once your HRA is exhausted, you can use your Healthcare FSA for the remaining medical expenses. You can also use your FSA anytime for things the HRA doesn’t cover—like prescriptions, dental costs, and vision costs.
How to Use Your FSA Funds
- When you enroll in the Healthcare FSA, HealthEquity sends you a debit card automatically.
- You can request extra cards for family members at no cost.
- Manage your account anytime at healthequity.com/wageworks.
- Keep your receipts! The IRS requires HealthEquity to confirm that your purchases are eligible.
- If a purchase needs verification, you’ll see a notice in your account.
- You’ll have 90 days to verify the expense—otherwise, your card may be suspended.

Use your money—don’t lose it
The IRS requires that any money in your FSA that can’t be carried over to the following year must be forfeited at the end of the plan year. Carryover amounts for Healthcare FSA for the plan year 2026 is $680, respectively. Be sure to carefully estimate what your healthcare and/or dependent day care expenses will be for the year when determining your annual contribution amounts.
Please note: New hires cannot participate in the FSAs if they are hired on or after October 1.
